Closing Thoughts

Last week we published the second edition of The Willingham! I would like to thank all the HGSA members for their hard work. Because of you all, we created a wonderful edition. As I reflect on my time as president, I can clearly say that I am proud of what our organization has accomplished. We started the year with three goals: grow our Instagram to 120 or more followers, expand our magazine by adding more design elements and an Undergraduate Corner, and fill the officer positions. For a relatively new organization such as ours, these were big steps to take in a single year; however, we accomplished this and so much more. As of today, we have 132 Instagram followers, and we love engaging with our online history community! As you can see from the second edition of our magazine, we added borders, more photos, and different fonts to give our magazine a fun vibe. In this new edition, there are three articles, two quizzes, one undergraduate piece, and five journal length articles. Thank you to all of the authors for their incredible work! Also, we inducted new officers who are excited to start the new academic year and accomplish more goals. 

Overall, I am proud of our members for working hard! All of you made me proud to be your president and you all helped me grow as a leader. I will never forget my time in HGSA and the valuable skills I learned! Stay tuned next year for another edition and for updates from the new president, Aubrey Jones!
